I've made these icons for a software board game, any comment appreciated
to improve the look of the units.
I think I may add black lines on the units to show some more details,
but appart from this I don't know...
Thanks,
Simon

they look very clear, i mean, it is clear that they represent a tank and a
battleship (destroyer). I'd like to hear more about your software boardgame.

Since they're intended as icons, any thin black lines will get lost.
As icons they need to be as simple as possible, in which you have succeeded.

I'm not sure, but I think I would add a black line like in the attached
image.
Also, I assume the ship and the tank will be graphically equally big in
the game? Then I suggest scaling the tank a bit down, because even
though they are equally long now, the tank still "weights" much more, so
it doesn't look balanced.

(Sorry for the long delay)
Thanks, since the icons are for the Web interface and that in the end
there will be an OpenGL interface with 3D tanks and stuff, I guess it
means the icons are perfect!
Thanks,

Actually, they won't be actual icons as in 32x32 @ 8 bits color. But
will remain as very small images. Actually the smallest one is probably
what it will look like on the final map...

Looked at your image and...
Well, that black line really deepens the tank's design, which looks
nice, but looks much less to a real tank.
But I think I will add a tiny black line between the rail or whatever
you call it and the tank's body. That'd look realistic and keep the
deepening! I guess... ;)

Yes, you are right, actually, I should make sure they cover about the
same "area"...
Thanks a lot!
