Kitsune_e: Thanks for the texture, I didn't realise there was a slope
pattern! I've added a couple more bits, just a little more texturing to do
and I should be finished.

This is looking good now, but I don't think the table wood texture
is good for your shadows - it doesn't show them up as well as it
could/should.
Give this a try and see what happens...

Change 'ambient 0' to your preference, +/-, (probably minus).

negative value? What is the overall effect of that? Does it simply make
any texture darker? Any adverse effects on radiosity?

Oh yes, give it a go, it works just fine. There's no overall
effect, (afaik), apart from the effect on the piece (model, whatever),
you're working on. I find that I do this a lot, trying to adjust the
contrast between, say, two instances of the same model where one is
close to the viewer and one is further away, i.e, the model further
back is exactly the same colour (with the same lighting) as the front
model, but 'should' be slightly darker.

I'm sorry Jeremy, I haven't really tried radiosity yet, so I simply
don't know. I would hazzard a guess that it might though.

Heh... Aren't we all, but I'm loving every single minute of it, (it
was my dream as a teenager to give CG a proper go). :)
