Hi,

I was trying to make the picture as if the Queen had just overthrown the
King, and was put her foot on his corpse (like a photo of a hunter with the
bear he killed - you get the picture ?).
The idea sounded good to me, but I seem to be unable to render was I would
like too :-(
I already tried several different poses, but I found none appropriate.
Maybe it isn't really feasible, or I would have to add legs, etc ?

Does anyone have an idea of what I could do to make it look better ?

(and sorry for my english, I hope you understood what I meant :-P)
btw, it's my first post :-)

Hmm... wouldn't it look better if the pic was attached ? :-D

Your English is quite good, actually, but I don't see the picture. Perhaps
you
forgot to attach it?

That's better! ;)
It gets the idea of standing on the fallen across okay, if not quite exactly
in the way you may have wanted...
You might try removing part of the King to give you more flexibility with
positioning the Queen. Tek has done a thing where he creates two prisms with
interlocking faces (same set of points for the 'important' edge but with the
interior of the prism in opposite directions), and then you can divide an
object
in two parts with intersection { object { Prism1 } object { King } } and
intersection { object { Prism2 } object { King } } ... (or more than two
parts
if you like, of course). So. Anyway. Using that, you could take away enough
of
the kings body to let the queen have one 'foot' (edge of her base) on the
king
without tipping at a silly angle. 'course the shattered chess king might be
reminiscent of Harry Potter, but that's the risk you take playing with a
widely used idea like chess pieces. ;)

Good Luck!

I'm not sure I understood what you said... did you mean to break the King
(somewhat like on this picture) to place the Queen better, or only to remove
some parts of the King without breaking it ?
(I put the Queen behind the King because I still don't know how to place her
:-)

Btw, I have not seen Harry Potter, so I can't be accused of plagiarism ;-)

Thank you

I meant to remove some parts of the King without breaking it entirely, so
that
the Queen had a lower surface to step on. If you can see my ASCII diagram,

Original:
----\
     \------------\
                   \
                    --+
                   /
     /------------/
----/
Modified (broken, chipped... ):

----\
     \--\ /---\
         \___/ \
                    --+
                   /
     /------------/
----/

Okay, that's a terrible diagram, but if you remove a piece like that, the
Queen could 'step' on the lower spot, and then be 'standing' on the King
with one edge, without looking utterly silly. (Obviously, if you put only
one edge of the Queen's base on the king with a fully intact King, she'd be
at a very large angle!)

Hope that helps...

Well, it has some spectacularly shattering chess pieces in it. ;)

OK, now I see what you meant (at least I hope ;-), but if I really
understood, the "hole" will either be apparent (in this case, won't the King
seem a bit strange ?) or not (obviously ;-) and in this case this
modification might be useless, since I could simply put the base of the
Queen partly into the body of the King (but we wouldn't see her standing on
him, indeed).

Thank you for your patience :-P
