Hello,
a long time ago I posted my last work because of the 'no time' syndrome.
Recently I had some hours free and I think the result is acceptable as a WIP
1.
Of course it is something similar to a hommage for Gilles Tran, his great
macros and the new 'Family' image
(http://www.oyonale.com/ldc/english/family_day.htm).
It rendered very fast because of the simple textures without reflection
turned on (2048*1536: 14 h / 1.2 GB peak memory).
Gilles, can you give me a hint on your media and light settings?
Other comments, suggestions?
Norbert Kern

You're obviously after a Tranesque look and I must say you've done a
great job at it!

I can't put my finger on why, but I really like that. Would make a cool
poster.

Fantastic. Simply awesome. Definitely jaw-dropping.
Out of curiosity... how was this scene modelled?

It sure is :) I wonder where you are going to take it.
> Gilles, can you give me a hint on your media and light settings?
Pretty basic : 3 cylinder lights, one of the "stage", one closer to the
camera (on the left) and one on the right.
#declare LightColor1=rgb <125,180,255>/255;
media{scattering{1,0.7*LightColor1/1000 extinction 0}}
To get the final image I did two passes : one at 1200*1200 to get the rad
data (with no aa) and a final one at 5000*5000 loading the rad data. Pretty
fast, just a few hours, the speed gain is amazing (the 5000*5000 with aa
took as long as the 1200*1200 one).
And then the characters where re-rendered separately with much higher
radiosity settings and pasted on the big image using a mask...

Thanks, I simply love Gilles madpipe macro, see
http://news.povray.org/povray.binaries.images/24589/ for another example.

Thanks, up to now I only wanted to make a simple wallpaper,
but perhaps it will go another way.

Thank you very much.
I made the image within 3 hours. Therefore it has to be very simple.
Essentially I used two macros from Gilles Tran: MadPipe and MakeTree -
(http://www.oyonale.com/ressources/english/sources08.htm /
http://www.oyonale.com/ressources/english/sources01.htm).
In Maketree.pov I simply substituted the cones with a nice pipe part from
pipeset.pov (link see above).
If you want I can post the source.
