1. Get a stopwatch and set it for 2 minutes
2. Create a wholly original scene in those two minutes.

here's my effort in all my limited-ability glory ;)

Two minutes? It takes me two minutes just to type my friggin' name, let
alone an entire scene! :)

Actually, that's not a bad exercise. I know creative writing classes would
do timed writing, usually 5-10 minutes. For a long while, I was trying to
do one POV image a day, no matter how crap-tacular it turned out... good
practice; makes you think...

Well here's my attempt. 2 minutes is a -very- short time! Your effort is
most impressive. I might have another go later, I think I didn't think it
through well enough before I started.

Well I managed to do a render within the time, but it was at a wierd
resolution so I then did another render without changing the source.

Is that two minutes just for the process of implementing
the scene, or should the whole idea what to do and how to
do it be developed within that 2min?

3 min. 45 sec. Because I had to change the camera's position a few times.

I think I'll enter it in the IRTC. ;P

Well here's my attempt. It took me several attempts (each time starting
from scratch) to get anything that would even run. I'll now try Rafal's 5
minute version and see if I can produce anything a bit better. On another
note, I ended up taking a few seconds longer because I realized my camera
was broken after I started the final (and slow) render. Hehe, the render
time was three times the creation time! ;-)

Here's the source:
