Say, are you still using a perl-script for that? Do
you use it to maintain non-intersection, or just
because of speed?
Looks nice, though simple. Some neat color-effects
with the media might be a good thing...

Something like this, but maybe the settings are to high. I usually use lower
settings.

On this one I've had several computers running so that the render time would
be more acceptable. My box (celeron 400) at home and my computer at the
office (something with 2ghz). I shut down all computers (except the server)
at the office when we're not around. So usually at the things render at my
place at night and during the day at the office, which is at about 5 times
faster.
A few minutes ago I started a new version based on this one with much more
particles that are smaller.
