Any knot addicts know what this one is called? Hand coded 'coz I
didn't know how else to get one and I was bored.

101 lights and 8004 spheres. Around 1.5 hours for both on a Celeron
500 (must get a new box).

Hand coded? You manually placed 80004 spheres?

I stand in awe.  ^_^;;

Er, typo, 8004.

Wow... It is impressive.

What algorithm did you use?

Fernando.

Nah, guess I oversimplified.
I put around 30 points in a spline to give a decent 2D XZ object, then
tweaked the Y values around the crossover points. Spline range is 0 to
1 and all I then had to do was put a sphere every 0.0005 along the
path.

Guess I could have used sphere_sweep but didn't think of that.

Thank you.

I looked for symetry and could see that I only needed to define a
quarter of the knot, and then rotate copies 90/180/270 deg to make the
full object.

See also my reply to Tim.

I'll post the source if anyone is interested.

Alf

I've publish a StairKnot. We are about to build that structure in a Park. I
was looking for a another equation for this parametric stair. The one I used
was a simple Trefoil Knot. I'm looking for another parametric equations,a
knot, or other equations. You could have look at;
