I've been working on some shuttle renderings (using POV-Ray, Moray, and
AC3D, for those who are interested to know). Here's one that's progressed
far enough to make a pretty background screen:
I haven't added the wing leading edge RCC panels, yet.

That is a very odd view of the shuttle. It is nice to see it though,
because I hadn't seen the patterns of the tiles before. Is that an image
map? Are you going to try a view of it on re-entry where those tiles are
being put to use? That thing sure does have huge control surfaces. Your
image has good lighting. Those are nice clouds too.

That's a very good image; it's nice to see a unique point of view. I've
never noticed the tiles having that diagonal pattern. Is that accurate?

Yes. The pattern is accurate. The "decal" I used is a bit too large and
skewed forwards, but not by very much.
