Hi!

This is the last preview of my fish scene.

other light, fish jumped out of the bowl, some water spots outside, brick
walls around scene, new fish texture
render time at 640*480, photon spacing .01, AA 0.3: little more than 6
minutes on 1.6GHz P4

changes in final version: random rotation of the gravels for more realistic
look. Any more changes needed? The water spots look gruesome but I don't
know how to improve them..

My dad said this light would look better than just a spotlight on the fish.
What do you think?

The title of the picture will be "Freiheit?", in English "Freedom?".
I will render it in a much higher resolution tomorrow and will have it
printed very large. Then I have to write 15 pages about the creation of the
picture.. In some weeks, I can tell you the mark I will get for it.

Looking good - but I have a suggestion (though it may be too late if you've
stopped development of the image, and 15 pages on creating a render?
ouch!). Anyway, there is obviously some ambient light here which detracts
from the realism of the image. I would suggest that you add "ambient_light
rgb 0" to your global_settings{} and then some radiosity. It's actually
quite easy to get some basic radiosity (won't be perfect for your scene
though) if you use a preset from "rad_def.inc". "Normal" or "Default" may
do the trick.

Good luck with the report, Alastair Murray.

I agree here. I was going to suggest adding a couple more light sources, one
possible right behind the camera just to brighten the scene.

but radiosity is a better idea i think.

I tried it as Alastair Murray suggested but the picture was simply too dark.
I will have the pic printed today and will see how dark or bright it appears
then.
