A few weeks ago I posted an image of "isosurface slime" and promised to post
a new version when I got my new hardware. Well, the new processor was
delayed and then I have had other things to do and now I have finally
rendered a new version.
The object is an isosurface of a turbulent bozo pattern lit by radiocity,
this time I tried to rise the number of octaves from 4 to 8 and that made
the image much, much slower to render:
1d 9h 29m 59s for 1600x1200 picture on my new Athlon XP 2400+, 512 Mb
compared to
0d 9h 33m 26s for the previous image (same size) on my old PIII 500, 384 Mb.
Allmost 24 hours longer!
Given the time it takes to render, this is the final version of the image.
So what do you think of it?
