As promised, the background.

Since the only external image map is the lettering (the spray-painted image
is produced by using camera normals and doing two passes on the render),
does this break IRTC rules?

I don't think anyone's ever been concerned with prepublishing before. People
always post their IRTC WIPs.

The text "Good Morning America" makes me associate the image with the news
program on channel 5 that has the same name.

Just making sure that the real sticklers for rules have no cause for
complaint.

Comes from Steve Goodman's song "City of New Orleans" as sung by Arlo
Guthrie:

<sings>
Good morning, America, how are you?
Don't you know me? I'm your native son.
I'm the train they call the City of New Orleans
I'll be gone 500 miles when the day is done.

I don't think anyone will mind you rendring the pic in two passes. I made an
entry that was rendered in two halves and put together in Corel paint and
nobody complained. Just be honest.

I used my 3D filter for the background in my image which
is very similar to yours :)

Maybe times changed but long time ago for one of the IRTC entries
I prepared image which was also "glued" in Photoshop. I think that
was the reason for low rating that time :(
