Hi all.
I think the boat is nearly finished.
Anyone thinks I'm missing something?
Thanks in advance.

That's really good. Shouldn't the chair be facing the other way?

The bit where your hands go on the crank should be encased in a freely
rotating cylinder so that your hands don't get blisters.
I assume it is hand cranked by two people that face each other with a third
person as rudder man. The chair at the front is for a passenger?
What about some poser people?

I just think that the gear ratio will be hard
on the people who power the boat. Even a 1:1
would ware them out quickly.

Thank you.
I think the chair's position is correct since it's facing the direction of
the
movement. It's supposed to be the seat of Mr. Ludovico Sforza, Duke
of Milan. So I think he should be facing forward, seeing only the
landscape, and not the sailors sweating (though I'm sure it'd be
interesting see the sailors faces trying to move this mechanism ;-).
If there is another reason why the chair should be facing the other way,
please let me know.
Bye.

You'll not see it in the water...Well, if you download the zip file
after the IRTC round is over, you could do it by yourself ;-)
Bye.

Good point. I'll add two wooden cylinders for that.
Thank you for the tip.

You are right.

The chair at the front is for the Duke of Milan, who was
Leonardo's patron. In my scene Leo wants to sell the
boat to the Duke as a racing boat.

In the final image there will be some poser people
(at least Leonardo and the Duke), but I want to
do the costumes in Hamapatch, so maybe in the
end I'll only use heads and hands from poser.
(I haven't found free costumes for a renaissance
look).

Thank you for your comments.
Bye.

You are right, but the model has been made
following Leonardo's instructions exactly.
Maybe that's the reason why the boat was never
build (AFAIK), but with pov you can also change
the History :-)

Ooooh, I figured the person sitting in the chair would be making the boat
move with their legs, like a bycicle.
