This was just an attempt to change the perspective on
the scenery. I'm not too sure if it enhances or loses something,
I've been working with the other perspective for far too
long to have a solid oppinion...
I've also scaled the Worldbowl down a bit, but it needs
to be placed differently for a new perspective.

Comments and suggestions on perspective, position and
scaling of Worldbowl are very welcome, its what I've
decided to be the next step of enhancing the image, though
other comments are welcome as well.

Regards,
Tim

I like this perspective visually, but in order to make it work, elements
must be added to the picture (don't ask me what) which will make the
presence of the worldbowl provocative.

The problem is that now many nice details are lost. I liked the subtle
effect of the rain drops and the inside atmosfere of the Worldbowl.
Perhaps you just need to zoom in again from this point, but making the
moon lower to enter on the composition.

Imho, 90% of this image is just rgb <0,0,0> :-/ Image should be much
brigter, adn/or camera should show this Worldbowl, not black color and
moon.

Yup, right about that. I'm fiddling a little more with the
perspective (view some other answers to the post), but
I definitely want to add some more objects.

I'm trying what you're suggesting right now. I didn't
like losing the Worldbowl to the background, since
it's really the focus of the scene...

Its not 90% thas rgb 0, though the night outside the
window tends to be dark... :-)
Seriously, I went on and lightened the room a little
more, but I've got to experiment a little to achieve
a "normally lit room" atmosphere, without losing the
focus on the Worldbowl's spotlight. Perhaps I'll
make the "outside world" more believable, like some
landmass or so.

Since it's the night in the "outside" world and the day in the worldbowl,
maybe the worldbowl should lighten the room. Remove te lamp and make the
light come from inside the worldbowl. And then you will have more
lighting and more focus on the worldbowl. Like a specimen of radium in
Curie's lab ;-)

And add some objects on the table. Maybe some boat lights or a
lighthouse in the see could be fun too...

In my humble opinion, you should concentrate more in the
worldbowl than in the room (which, by the way, is almost
empty). I think the new perspective loses a lot from your
original pic.
I think it would be better if you get closer to the Worldbowl
rather than getting far.
Just an opinion.

I think that you should decide exactly what you believe the worldbowl
represents and then add objects to the scene to strengthen that image.

This is how I would set up the scene:

I see the worldbowl as suggesting a floating, distant, separate viewpoint,
like the disappearance of a consciousness into the void. The empty, dark
window strengthens this imagery as well.

I would align the camera to represent the viewpoint of a person sitting in a
chair in front of the table. I would then place next to the worldbowl
something to suggest the death of the now absent person at the table. A
suicide note, a final love letter addressed by a soldier, a diary entry
outlining a dangerous experiment in which the author was about to take part,
etc.

Foreshadowing in a sense, but witnessed in the past. I think that this
arrangement could make a very provocative picture if the mood were correct.
A picture in which the worldbowl would be a very important part.
