A model I'm working on, rendered using MLPov
and the kitchen map.
I have rendered two images, one to obtain the alpha
channel (without using the HDRI sphere) and other using
the HDRI sphere.
The background has been blurred a bit in a 2D program,
resulting in a nice little glow around the object.
Just wanted to share it.

I like it. Is that a crackle pattern on the watch face?
I'm hoping that someone develops a new library of light
probes. This is getting to be the most famous "kitchen"
in the history of POV (with the exception of Jaime's IRTC
winner some year back, of course).

(sorry for the late answer...)

No, it's a cristalize filter over an image (it's a bitmap).
The center is a heightfield, the arrows are bicubic patches,
the rest is CSG.

I think there will be more and more libraries in the web if
the technic get more popular.
Jaime is trying to get the same effect using only pov and he
is getting very close. Maybe some of the great programmers
around here will find another solution or a way to create your
own HDRI probes using pov, who knows?

Sure but I'm still waiting for a great kitchen scene by
JRG ;-)
