Hi Philippe,
first of all i have to say:
wow! great sky-colors!
I read your first posting about your
POV-Sky-experiments with great interest
because i thought about making something
similar for my cloud-project but didn't
found the time and some proper research-
papers (like the one you posted a link for).
This gives me new incitation to improve
my cloud-model. Perhaps i'll post a hybrid-
image with your sky-model in the near future.
Greetings,
Thies

Cool!
Makes me think of how a ghost would see himself in a reflecting surface ;-)

The colors in this one are fantastic. This comes very close to the results
achievable with Terragen.I'll certainly give youre macros a try in one of my
next projects.
Regards and thank you for the source code, Christoph.

Thanks! But I did not choose them, the math did ;-)

Well, it actually worked the other way round. Marc Jacquier posted a message
about this model on the french newsgroup (3D.povray on news.zoo-logique.org)
saying something like "I found this, it look nice, it would be cool if
someone could implement it in Pov." and I took it as a little challenge ;-)

I'm really looking forward to it. What do you use for you clouds ? Media ?
Layered planes ? Another technique ?
Povingly,
Philippe

Uh ?? I do not get this... Are you talkin about the lack of a visible
observer in the reflective sphere ? Or the shape of the white ball catching
the shadow of the chrome one in the reflection ?

Excited to see this!
I also look forward to exploring your source to see what solutions you used
for some of the problems I came up against when I tried implementing this
in pov.
I think you've made a good contribution to the sky/atmospheric rendering
resources for pov - especially since I am a bit biased towards
sky/atmospheric rendering :).
