I used POV's trace function to apply my blobs to the surface of some objects.
The orange juice is a very turbulent media (turbulence set to 20), everything
else is modelled pretty simply.

Render times: 17 hours for the plastic object (very high radiosity and blur
quality settings), 25 minutes for the glass of juice!

I'm working on making the orange juice into a proper scene, possibly as a frozen
moment, so all suggestions are welcome :)

this plastic object is really something! If I were you, I'd rerender the
thing and put it for sale as a poster at zazzle. but maybe that's just my
personal taste.

Good stuff!

Cool thanks! I've been thinking about maybe doing a zazzle render of something,
but didn't really think any of my pictures were good enough!

I'm thinking of using this object as a kind of signature on every final image I
do from now on. Then I can overhaul my website to use it prominently.

Hum.... Eye candy!!

I agree with the others: the plastic object is awesome. I would love to have
an higher render of this on my desktop!!! Zazzle seem to be a nice idea.

Good job!

Ciao!

The lighting (and focal blur) of the link object is perfect! Would you
mind posting your light settings?

Sure thing!

There's no light sources in that image. The radiosity is Radiosity_OutdoorHQ
from rad_def.inc. I also have assumed_gamma 1 in my global_settings. And the
lighting comes from the sky dome:

sky_sphere {
 pigment {
  #local fPow = .2;
  function {
   (
    select( y, -pow(abs(y),fPow), pow(abs(y),fPow) )
   )/2 + .5
  }
  colour_map {
   [0 rgb <3,2,1>/3]
   [.5 rgb <1,2,3>]
   [.5 rgb <3,2,1>]
   [1 rgb <1,2,3>/3]
  }
 }
}

I'm going to do a high-res version of the link object this weekend. But in
the meantime here's a few renders of the OJ.

I've added a cocktail stirrer, and removed the turbulence (because smooth OJ
traces faster!).

Next: ice cubes!
:)
