maybe a stone/wood texture would look good as well, and perhaps give a sense
of scale - in my mind each 'column' is something like 25 ft tall.

That's odd, they look more like chess pieces to me :-)

Nice pic.
How did you get the lighting to look like that? I'm messing around with
radiosity and I just can't get it to look anything like that. I'm placing
an object on a white plane and throwing in radiosity and its not giving the
desired effect.
I just don't know how radiosity works.

I quess that there are about 4 light sources in secne (area lights
probably)
