Hi folks!

I just sent in my entry for the spectacular landscapes round (you can see it
here if you want a preview: http://www.evilsuperbrain.com/images/road.html).
But, as seems to always be the case with me, it isn't the only idea I had.

A while ago I posted a picture of a "sliced world". Well I revisited that a
couple of times over the last month and arrived at this image. I decided not to
submit it, since it's wandered way off topic, but I thought I'd post it here and
find out what you folks think!

Any thoughts, comments, etc. about either image are more than welcome as always
:)

Cool. It provokes the imagination. I guess it's not possible to animate
ships flying around in it, as it looks more like a contour map. But even
then I suppose you could have a civilization existing on different
planes....

Nice ITTC entry :-)

I'm curious about how the terrain was made?

Mick

If you mean the terrain for the irtc image, it's all done with worldmachine
(including the road). Details are in the text file with my submission, as well
as the source worldmachine file.

The terrain on the space station is just a granite pigment, mapped on a series
of layers, where each layer has a different "threshold" value and colour set by
hand.
