Hi,

I was trying to build a jellyfish using CSG, and I get this unexpected
result - I guess that my ior setting is too high.

I have decided to use CSG rather than patch object, because I want to fill
the Jellyfish with media. My final goal is to use ISO_CSG but I did not
check if the interior is well define so media can be used.

FYI, patch objects, even non-solid ones I believe, can be filled with media.

To make sure to get a good result with complex objects or high ior,
you're going to want to set max_intersections to be pretty high (like 20
or 30).  It looks like some of the black near the bottom of the
"jellyfish" is due to using the default max_intersections value of 5. 
Even without using a high ior value, a max_intersetions value too low
can cause artifacts with media, as well!

Try setting this value higher and see what happens.

Speaking of jellyfish IOR, it is rather close to water IOR (JF is water at
99% ) so if you plan to trace you JF underwater, you don't need high IOR.
Be carefull to set max_trace_level high enough in global settings.
