Nice, but.. doesn't the "vision" in POV refer to an ability to see?

The 'vision' in POV might or might not refer to an ability to see,
it isn't specified in the context. There were several dozen varieties
of 'vision' in my japanese/english dictionary, I picked the one I
liked best.

Actually, I believe it's the name of a particular visual phenomenon..
something to do with afterimages, or something of the sort.
