I have started to rework a scene from 2 years ago. I created the model off
the Mary Rose way back then. I think that should perhaps move the light
source to much further to the right. The scene uses radiosity at the
settings from the insert menu. The textures have ambient 0 diffuse 1 (except
the water). Any suggestions? Thanks.

Very good rework! The clouds are very nice at the left side, but they
seem somehow unreal at the right side. The sea is very good, perhaps a bit
dark but the day doesn't seems to bright. I like the horizon line and the
general appearance of the sea. About the boat, perhaps the sails doesn't
look much as cloth. And if you could just figure out how to do the boat
wake... :) Great work!

You might find some helpful radiosity settings in rad_def.inc.

I think that this is really a superior image. The objects do look
quite dark, however, for being on the sea in the middle of the day.

Remarkably similar, non?

Halbert, this might help you a bit in thinking about your scene ...

Wow. Interesting. I wish I had the will (and RAM) to create more ship models
for that scene. An armada would look pretty cool. The water in that photo
does look familiar. Hmmm...
I am currently trying to lighten up the picture. I am going to try raising
the ambient on the sails see if that improves their appearence.
BTW. Where in NYC are you. I'm in Astoria.

U.E.S. Manhattan.

I keep thinking of doing a New York street scene render
but I can't think of anything that's not a cliche. Anyway,
after Gilles has handled the subject, there is not much point is there?
A World's Fair, Queens, scene might be fun in a retro sort of way,
though. Check out the Coca-Cola Pavillion in this shot:
