Hi,
I was just wanting your opinions on my interpretation of the current
stills topic, loneliness.
The person on the island was made in poser. I have a blobby person also,
but I don't know which one to use. The blobby person is more technically
complicated because I made it myself, but the poser person looks much
more realistic.
This is my first ever entry to the irtc (I've only been using pov for
just over a month), so I don't know which is favoured, technical or
realism.
This is my current scene, with a poser person in it.
And this is the blobby person that I made. Same pose, no sandals :)
On the larger renders, the increased detail of the poser person really
makes it look good.
Any comments on the scene will be well appreciated.
Cheers,
Graham

Now thats a very nice image.
For someone who is using Pov for just over a month you are getting excelent
results. Congratulations. :)
In this case, since the person appears without much detail in the pic, I
think you can choose the one that renders faster, but its up to you. They
both look good to me.
If the end result is the same, I think its more valuable to use your own
work than a "pre-made" one.
And I think the pic really fits the topic even if we can say that he is
receiving a message then mabe he is not that lonely right? (he he he just
kidding) ;D
Nice water.
Best regards.

Looks good, but there is something unrealistic about the water and the
horizon. Normally the water should be darker in the foreground than far
away (since reflection is lower at a steep angle). Apart from that the
sun suggests there being quite some dust, but the horizon line is not
blurred at all.

Nice stuff!
Doesn't look so lonely to me ... This is my idea of paradise.
Finally, some peace and quiet!
My opinion is ... Toss out the Poser model and go with your own thing.
Even if you rate lower with the IRTC judges, you will have the
satisfaction
of having submitted something that is completely your own creation.

Thanks for all the comments people.
I think that I am going to stick with the poser person, since the image
that i intend to submit is a much higher resolution and the differences
between the poser person and the blobby person are quite significant
when the person is bigger.
I'm not really feeling guilty about not keeping the blobby man, because
the poser man took just as long to do, it was just a different form of
artwork, but with much more realistic results. I will always have my own
personal satisfaction that the blobby man was also successful,
regardless of which image I show to the judges :)
I'm just waiting on a high quality render now and will be submitting
tommorrow.
Thanks again for all your nice comments. I'm looking forward to entering
the future irtc's.

And there should be lots of white sparkles on the water, from the sun.
Otherwise, pretty nice!

Perhaps a bit of focal blur would help, I think. Otherwise, very well done!
