Maybe use a wider angle to get more of the house and reduce the prominence
of the girl to accentuate the loneliness. I guess this would require more
detail to the room though.
Also you should get rid of the kitty (i think it's a kitty) outside the
window. Nobody can be lonely with a kitty around.

It is - although I was kinda hoping that nobody would even notice it was
there ;)

Unless your picture just has the kitty, outside, looking in, and it's
raining...then the kitty's lonenly. :(

You should change her pose. To me she looks more surprised, like the phone
is suddenly ringing, than someone who's lonely.
Maybe it's because she is too straight in the back..
IMHO you'd want a more "I've given up" pose.
Maybe sitting resting her head in her hands or something.
Perhaps change the time of day to evening to give a more
gloomy feeling. Maybe rain on the windows?

Looks more peaceful than lonely.
Girl looks asthough she's intersecting with the sofa with her left arm and
her bum, and needs lots more AA, IMHO.

No then the kitty's stupid, they normally go and sit underneath a parked
car when it's raining.
