The next round in the face combat - well, just kidding.

Thanks for all advices on my former face image - and so
I have tried to improve Angelina (yes, she got a name)
a little bit.

After a suggestion from my girl friend: "...girls like this would
use a dark eye liner - and a lot of it" (and whatever she did
mean with "girls like this")  I have changed her make-up a
little. It seems that by using POV-Ray I also do learn how
to do a good pro-blush.

Next I have used Wings3d to add some more triangles by
hand . A stupid work to get a smoother mesh for her hair.
Does anybody know a utility that imports .obj files and does
a surface subdivision by leaving the uv-vectors untouched?

And the eyes. A little bit better I think, but these are not
Bette Davis eyes. Meanwhile I believe the only way without
faking anything would be to remove the Poser mesh for the
eyes completely and create a realistic CSG model instead.

Congratulations.

I think the girl is getting excelent!

Keep up yhe good work. I like it a lot.
I thing the next thing to do is work a little on her neck.
I just find it too "flat", you should add a litle more detail and shape in
the throat area IMHO. :)

Very impressive work, but I think you can reduce the lips to makes it more
realistics ! no ?
What option did u use to render it ? How many time it takes to render
...etc... ?

There was a freeware UV-mapping program called LithUnwrap that could
subdivide the the model while leaving the uv-vectors untouched (or as I
would say subdivided the uv-vectors aswell). The author decided to go the
shareware route and I don't think you can easily find LithUnwrap anywhere
anymore. The shareware version is called  Ultimate Unwrap 3D and can be
found here http://www.unwrap3d.com/ if you dont mind paying the modest price
for it.

Her hair line is awfully receded.

To me the eyes seem a little strange.  Maybe slightly too much upturned?
But then if it looks right to you then disregard.

I know what you mean, the lips are a little bit big. But somehow
she was "born" this way and I do not like to do some cosmetical
surgery as I do not like cosmetical surgery at all.
Also it is possible that she used that thing (however the girls call it)
to draw a outline around her lips to make them appear optical a
little bigger (and do not ask me for what reason some girls do so).


the render options: -w480 -h640 +A0.1 +AM2

default radiosity settings
assumed_gamma 1.0
light source is one 4x4 area light

As far as I remember the render time  was about 35 minutes with my old
800MHz Athlon 256MB.

Well, as soon as I find some time I will redo her eyes completely just
to see if it is possible to reproduce real eyes with POV-Ray. This
could be interseting but first I have to search for my old biology
books.

Thank you very much, and it seems that what has started just as a
quick test render to see how a realistic skin texture could be done
turns into some real work :-)
