Don't.
P.S.: You might want to use anti-aliasing.

I tried that and found that the rendering quality did not improve (but the
time to render sure increased).
Thanks for the suggestion, though.

Why are you using the GIF format?
GIF is limited to 256 colors (the dithering is visible on this image)
and doesn't compress very well. This file is 96KB, using PNG I was able
to get it down to 76KB, using JPEG I got it down to less than 15KB
without obvious artifacts. PNG would probably have been bigger given the
original image, but it wouldn't have had the dithering, or you could
have reduced it to 8 bit and just gotten the file size advantage. JPEG
would probably have gotten better compression if it had the original
image to work with, and wouldn't have the ugly dithering.

Actually, that's a good question. Probably arises from the fact that the
images will be posted in the Art and Research Sections of my web site and
I'm just used to doing them in GIF format. I also tend to post images on
the Research side with transparency and PNG transparency support is qute
limited in all the browsers, I've avoided PNG.
However (end of my babbling) you have a good point. I'll repost with PNG
here.
Thanks for the comments!
