I was playing around with fibonacci spirals, and this got me sidetracked
when I made a typo in the golden ratio, replacing sqrt(5) with sqrt(2)
by accident.  It took about 4.5 hours to render in 1600x1200 (with AA,
photons and radiosity) on a PIII 500.
