Just something I've been fiddling with. I'm not overly happy with the book
cover, I don't think it's glossy enough. anyway, comments? suggestions?

Nice wood. You know, I once printed out the POV-Ray manual and it was
about that thick!

I liked very much the wood texture. How did you do it?

Fernando.

That's nice. The wood texture is good, but I think you should make the
grooves about half the size, I think they're too big.

As for the book, yes, make it shineyer (if that's supposed to be a plastic
cover), and perhaps add some color? It looks like "rgb 1" to me which just
automatically implies unrealism =)

Radiosity will need better parameters eventually. Is the table supposed to
look like it's half an inch above the ground?

I posted this when I wasn't quite awake yet, I've only had four hours of
sleep, and the nearest half decent cup of cup is a 30 minute bike ride away.
The Wood texture is not completely mine (although I wish it was =), it is
actually a modified version of some of the textures from Christoph Hormann's
isowood include file.

had I been fully awake at the time of posting I would have mentioned this.

thanks

It somehow looked familiar to me...

Is it only a texture derived from IsoWood or are these real isosurface
planks? I suppose the former, otherwise this would be quite slow...

It looks good, just the wood is quite unstructured in length direction,
the color structure looks nearly the same on both ends of all pieces.

Christoph

the table is all isos, took 3 hours to render :-P

I'm not quite sure what you mean by unstructured. but I placed most of the
obects with a loop after texturing so there all clones :-P

The perception that something is glossy comes from reflections and
highlights. To get that effect you'll probably have to change the
lighting and/or add some stuff in the background.
