anyone have any idea why I can see the media container? It's just a
collection of 5 randomly placed domes (I'm not to worried about that
speckled bit where the flames touch the ground, It'll be out of sight).

these are my settings
interior {
  emission 1
  density {
   spherical
   poly_wave 2
   density_map {
    [0 rgb 0 filter 1]
    [.5 granite
     color_map {
      [0 rgb 0 transmit 1]
      [1 rgb <1, .75, .5> * 4]
     }

max_trace_level perhaps? If you have 5 intersecting transparent objects, I'm
sure that's it.
