This is the best i could do.
Sigh.
What are those lines, tho, in the middle of the lathe?

ncryptor -

Try increasing your max_trace_level and/or decreasing the reflectivity
and transmission of the glass by a few percent. If the ray bounces
around inside the bottle too many times you will get the default
background color (black). Are you also having problems near the top of
the bottle?

Don't say it's a failure when your so close! This is starting to look quit
good. All you need now is a label and maybe play around with the lighting a
bit.

It's not bad. Looks like the ads.

Try "sturm", and if that doesn't work, try ever so slightly jiggling your
camera's position and the direction it's looking at. Also raise
max_trace_level, as Ben said.

You'll also need heavier AA for the final render (in fact, using focal blur
to do the AA may help remove some of those artifacts).

I also recommend you make the gradient in the white background circle more
sinusoidal/smooth; it looks too linear. If you don't know what I mean by
that then don't worry about it.

global_settings {

  max_trace_level 175 <---- !!!!!!!
  #if ((photonson&transm)=1)
  photons {
    spacing 0.0004
    autostop 0
    jitter 0
  }
  #end
}

Well, I do, but the gradient is the light for a spotlight i can't change the
"linearity", but if i decrease the tightness it might help.

I experienced those lines, too.
(see "thermometer (glassthingie) 98kbbu" from 1. nov 2000 if you can reach
back that far, and the conversation, I had with Grimdude)
They won't get away with sturm, I believe,
and max_trace_level won't help, too: If you change the texture from glass to
something non-transparent, those lines will stay.
I only know, that they are at the height of the camera (aren't they), so you
can get rid off them, if you upper the camera till it's above the late. You
may try too increase the angle of the camera, that might help a bit, too.

C'mon, don't be a wimp, my default level is 250 and I take it to the
thousands if needed.

Nice bottle, too bad it's empty. I guess I would've emptied by now as well,
that's the problem with modelling still-life.

The lines are caused by the fact that the root solver will only run at most
50 iterations before giving up and saying that it's close enough. Normally,
50 is more than enough, but in some situations, such as what you've got
here, it isn't. If you zoom in on those lines, you'll find that the surface
there is significantly above or below the surface for the rest of the
bottle.

Then wouldn't it be wise to allow this value to be changed?
