That's pretty nice. Did you export this entire car as triangles with
textures? How long did it take to render? If you'd like to improve the look,
maybe you could use blurred reflection on the metal. If render-time is a
problem, I could imagine this car looks as good without focal blur. I took a
photo of my own car a while back, and it did not have any focal blur, so
apparently it's not needed for realism.
Well, those were just suggestions, but you've demonstrated the mayaray
plugin, it works, and lets hope some people will use it... I suppose you're
going to advertise it among Maya people.. :o)

for some reason i thought this was "against the rules of POV"
i remember a post a year or so ago about a plugin for 3ds Max to use POV as
the renderer. and he was told to stop development. am i crazy here.
dont get me wrong, i'm all for this kind of thing

I see? I spent some time now to search through the whole history of the
newsserver, and I can't find what you're saying.. It may have been an
off-topic thread that has now been auto deleted.
Well, making a link between a commerical program and a freeware program is
...probably... not illegal, but a deep integration between such two programs
could be illegal, and hurt the freeware concept of POV.. Apart from that,
there are already converters of file-formats.

its been at least a year since the other post.. i say go for it,
i'd love to use the POV render with 3ds Max, but thats just me.
