Nearly three weeks past the deadline, and this is as far as I got with my IRTC
"Winter" entry. I need to move on if I have any hope of getting anything done
for the "Dreaming" round, but I am obsessed with fur at the moment.

I modeled the wolf from scratch in Anim8or, textured it in UVmapper and PSP then
re-exported the furry parts of the geometry to use with the pcm macros. I had to
create my own create_mesh macro to use a hair object that sized with the
geometry like the cones do in the pcm distribution. The eyes are just CSG.

When I turned this radiosity test render loose last night, I don't remember
leaving some of the colored parts orange, but I obviously did. Comments and
suggestions are welcome, particularly if you have any suggestions for improving
the fur. . . it has some 'directional' issues.

P.S. I noticed something weird too. The smaller post is a screenshot of the
image opened in PSP and as POV displays it. Anyone know why the file version
would seem so washed out?

You might try checking your PSP "Monitor Gamma" settings. It looks like
it might possibly be set to about 1.3.

PSP: File -> Preferences -> Monitor Gamma

its probably not just psp, i bet it will look equally washed out in anything
you care to view it in.

Thanks! I had forgotten PSP had its own intrinsic gamma correction. 1.3 was a
very good guesstimate as well. I've adjusted them and don't remember (just 5
minutes ago) what they were exactly but I remember being impressed at how close
you were. Thanks again.
