I made an image of paperweights seven years ago with
POV 2.2. I draged it out to give it another try, this
time with no lights, just radiosity and ambient light
from the sky sphere. I mapped a photo of a real
sky to the sky sphere.

This would look neat with a real light source and lots of photons!

Wow, it's cool.
btw, are those inside the paperweights air-bubbles? Those bubbles look
quite nice.

I'm working on my own paperweight image at the moment. Not this complex
yet, but I'm working on it :-)

i think you should add a single area light (otherwise know as the sun) to
provide some highlighting and photons

A higher max_trace_level (maybe 15-20) would help this image, also!

Thanks,
Yeah, like real paperweights they're air bubbles, and
POV handles the change in ior quite well.

True, I had high max trace when I first rendered this seven
years ago. Can't remember what it is this time, but I didn't
notice any black areas.
