Hi All:
Here is a test of my lighting macros with the last beta. It uses only 32
samples for focal blur, so it is a bit grainy (tracing now at 64). There is
no rad nor caustics, but there are 2 area_lights.
I also used this scene to test averaged micro-normals (metals) and the
function image pattern (wood table). Some more shots, with diferent
lighting conditions and different metals:

As always, criticism is accepted and expected.

Cool, the graininess from jpg compression tricked me into thinking it was a
digital camera photo at first.
I like the lighting in this one the best (it looks kinda like it's outside).
If there is any criticism to be added, then maybe the shadows are too sharp.

BIG eyes!! 8-) Apart from the too strong grainyness that's magnificent!

Surprising to me. The light is so well balanced. Have you used blurred
reflection then? I'd also like to know more about this simulation of micro
facets.
Much praise to you! This is a real keeper, and a perfect advertisement for
Pov!

Hugo

Spectacular. I think we have a winner.

Beautiful lighting, and the metal looks incredible. How slow was the render
when you got to the bolts? How many normal layers did you use?

More photorealistic than I have ever managed. Beautiful renders, and I for
one am eagerly awaiting these lighting macros.
All the best,

The grainyness really looks fine to me! ABSOLUTELY STUNNING!!!!
(I almost hear the high, metally "tling!" sound of that little metal ring)
What's that micro-normals all about? Did you do this all in povray? I'm not
asking for source (yet), but I'd like to know HOW you did those
micro-normals.
Keep up the good work!!!!

I'm loving that wood texture. How did you make that?

Fan-Bleepin-Tastic.
I wanna see the 64 sample versions :P
Is the wood texture procedural or is it an image_map?
