Well, not the 'Man' himself, but maybe his bullets? ;)

Ok, I've tried to reproduce a lead and brass effect here using
Silver_3B, (using finish {conserve_energy diffuse 0.3 ambient 0.11) and
Gold_3B as it is, but I'm not too sure about the lead or the brass
effect for that matter. I tried an image map of what I thought would be
good texture for lead, and it was, but it was too matt and dull.

I've also added a pinch of focal blur for good measure.

What do you think? Comments most welcome, and *brilliant* lead code
much appreciated if anyone knows it, (I want to have a go at a fishing
weight next... :)

 Produced using 3.5 b16 on a 600Mhz, w'98 machine, (my baby ;)

This is an awesome idea for a picture, Steve!

I'm pretty sure Clint used a .44 Colt Richards Conversion in the man with no
name movies, so the casing should be longer and the bullet flat on the
front.

The lead finish should be flatter and the casing a little brighter.

Optionally, you could discolor the casing and scratch it up as well. I
imagine outlaws would reload their casings as many times as possible.

:) Thanks! I'd like to see more of 'anything' that is obscure or has
a connection with something that someone likes... I've seen those films
SO many times and never get bored... The same with 'Jason and the
Argonauts'.... ;)

     I think you're right.

I'm sure they did Shay. I'll have a go at these suggestions.

Here is one I did a couple of months ago, but never bothered to post. I
didn't get the feel right. Also the surface normal isn't near right, and
the shell lacks writing under it.

Considered it a WIP that never made it. :-)

the same ideas... ;)

My Grandad used to shoot a .22 bolt action rifle for rabbits and
pheasants and I remember the letter E on the base of his shells - I
think I'll try and do the same with my image.

I've got quite a few of those! :) Work on yours, it's got great
potential, and thanks for sharing it.

Great scene, but where is the hammer mark on the back side of the
casing?

Thank you.
This picture is out of an animation i made last year.
I was quite in a hurry to finish it - so i had no time to implement the
mark.
