Hi,
Unfortunately I just can't find the time to try to model anything detailed,
so I decided to just do another simple scene, with fairly high Rad settings
and DOF too. Render time for this was approx 55 hours (dunno quite why it
was *so* high).
Rad settings were:
radiosity{
pretrace_start 1//0.16
pretrace_end 1//0.01
count 700
nearest_count 10
error_bound 0.1
recursion_limit 3
low_error_factor 1
gray_threshold 0.5
minimum_reuse 0.015
brightness 1.2
}
.., still not got rid of some artifacts on the walls, and will probably
always use subtle color_maps in future to avoid flat solid areas of colour.
Seen this done before, I know, but anyone like this?
All the best,
Andy Cocker

Ice cream with sprinkles? But it must be very cold there, or they wouldn't be so
round.. but they're in the sun either way, so they
should be at least _partially_ melted.. maybe they're that non-melting ice cream that
Rhoald (sp?) Dahl came up with... hm..
Maybe I'll shut up now. Very nice image. ;-)

I haven't seen something like this before; very original, candy-like,
inviting, great lighted raytracing, but most people will think 55 hours is
monstrous.

Hugo

I like it a lot.
The image does look very "jaw-breaker" or "snoball" like.
How are you making the light source? Is it a cylinder type?
Are there any photons in the scene?

This image looks terrific.
Will you post the source?
Really neat, not much more too add, is there? ;-)

Just meant, more spheres, y'know? I *certainly* think 55 hours is monstrous,
and it maybe didn't need to take that long.. I just never found out what it
was that was slowing it down the most.. I know Radiosity hates curves. DOF
didn't help either ;-)
