I'm trying to get the lighting right for my kitchen scene. This is an early test
render.
No lights were used, just pure radiosity. I couldn't use better settings for lack of
memory.
Render time (with MUCH swapping): about 7 hours.
The grainess of the red cupboard was enhanced by the jpeg compression.
I will probably use a warmer light for the final scene.

well done.  good sense of realism here.  you could increase max trace level
maybe to get rid of blackness around the glass.  of course it wouldnt
exactly help your render time.
and just swap the wine for a bottle of the finest macallan scotch whisky. oh

Looks very good,
although it is a test run a few minor comments, the finish of the red 
stuff on the top of the wine bottle doesn't look good, too dull. The 
cork is too bright, unless it's one of those cork faking plastic corks. 
The colors on the wine bottels lable look a bit washed out, as if a 
gamma correction is applied twice. It's not in harmony with the rest of 
the scene. For the wine glass have you scaled the wine smaller than the 
glass? If so, try scale it a bit bigger than the glass, it may look more 
natural.
Couldn't resist what I usually do with photos, cover parts of them with 
white paper to change / improve compostition. Result, cropped the image 
to about 510X670 counting from the top right hand side. It chops of the 
top of the bottle on its side and brings the left hand side of the wine 
bottle to about 1/3 of the image.

Great setup!  :o)  But two questions I have:  How could you render this so
quickly when there is blurred reflection and glass in the scene? I thought
it would be impossible. And how much memory is in your computer?

I think the light from the window is from a cloudy day. Because it's not
possible to have sunlight and pure radiosity - it will lack specular
highlights... Am I right?

Aye! Aye! Where? Where?

The one time I had a Laphroaig, it was the best whiskey I've ever
had!!! I haven't ever seen it sold here, but if I ever do, I'll get a
bottle for the finest moments in life, even if it takes saving for a
month.
