Is there any add-on or include file or anything else that would allow one to
create a draping cloth of some sort?
I want to use Povray 3.5. I have tried the cloth.exe that Christoph
provides but it doesn't seem to run (placed
Cygwin1.dll in same directory but only a blank command window shows and
nothing else.)

I am posting another small really poor hand drawn representation of what I'm
trying to achieve. I have tried heightfields
but with no good results.

Any ideas to work with 3.5 would be appreciated!

Use the bouf's clothpatch with povman 0.71 to create a mesh
(tofbouf.free.fr), and use it in pov 3.5.

I'm a bit busy nowadays, but I'm still working on my new cloth program. Once
it's finished (before summer), people will be able to create their own
cloth-objects, create animations and render the results with povray. I'm
working on the CSG objects part and the collission detection.

Wow here are some questions...
Is it a stand alone program? In that case how can you deal with
isosurfaces, blobs and meshes? Wich approach do you use (finite difference,
springs-masses, beam finite elements, shell finite elements...)? The
simulation is dynamic or cinematic? What kind of integration method do you
use (Euler, midpoint Euler, implicit, newmark, newton...)? Does it use
anisotropic stiffness, cloth internal damping, plastic behaviour...
Thank you for any reply.
