I have never seriously tried to make any landscapes before. Here's my first
try with a desert landscape. I'm fairly satisfied with the shapes, but I
don't think the textures have turned out very well...
The image is a 180 degree panorama.
What do you think? Any suggestions?

It looks great, but as you say the texture looks a bit too crumbely if
that makes any sence, as if it would all blow away with a gust of wind,
so maybe try to make it look more solid somehow.

I agree with Steve, the overall shape is great but the texture makes it look
like if you touched it it would just fall apart. Try lowering the depth of
the small scale bumps and see if that helps.

P.S. The sky code you asked for is in the p.general for you. I hope it
helps.

It looks quite good, I must say! One of the best sandy scenes I've ever
seen. But the grainy textures are not suited for an animation, and as far as
I know, real life deserts actually look pretty clean.
