Hi

Ok well this is an early test of an idea I have. Not very interesting at the
moment, much more to do. The sky and atmosphere is a hybrid of my own cloud
code and that posted by Jide. As usual, not many shadows to see so you can't
really tell where the sun is. The clouds need more samples which is the main
problem when you go for light clouds, darker ones require a lot less.

Also I can't seem to get fade_power, color and distance to work properly.
The light doesn't seem to be fading in the water, fade_distance of 0.005 it
is still transparent. Any hints as to what I'm missing? And I can never get
fade_color to work, probably due to the fact that fade doesn't seem to be
doing anything, of well.

Oh well, better get on with it.

Kev

Looking nice.I think you got the 'fog' media working better than me. Do you
have no_shadows in the outer athmosphere layer? It got there by accident in
my source.

I had some problems with it too. It would propably be better to use media
(sigh).

It looks pretty good already, IMO.

If you're using photons, you will have run into (one of?) fade_color's
undocumented pitfall(s): it doesn't work when photons are present.

Just use a constant type 1 scattering media instead.

Well the fog is nearly the same as yours, I just made it a bit more
scattering and changed it to a normal
sphere instead of a difference. no_shadow is in the outer atmosphere layer,
I haven't tried to do media atmosphere before so just followed your example,
shouldn't it be there?

I don't think it actually works to be honest as all I can seem to get is
bright colours. Needs more investigation I think.

Maybe just an absorption media will do the trick.

Thankyou.

No photons but all I can get out of fade_color are bright colours when any
of the colour vectors is 1, when they are lower than 1 I get nothing. Oh
well, I'll look at it more, unless someone has any hints.

If you remove the no_shadows from the outer layer it gets a bit slower but
the colouring changes also. In the pic that I posted I think i didn't have
no_shadows applied.

Yes, most propably.

Nice look, but I don't know what it is. Any clues?
