Hi all:
I've been working hard in the scene (even though is not complete), and
almost everything is here (except for the kid, some drawings in the board,
one or two toys...) but you can get the feeling.
The carpet is a 16 colours gif map with a material map (to make me able to
use the fur macro by Rune in each subtexture).
Everything is done with Moray and Hamapatch.
The alien was done following Shay's comments. I think it gives a story to
the scene. I know it looks cartoonish, but I have decided to make it as a
kid would imagine it, not as we (adults) do.
The render has been done with Povray 3.1g, since beta 11 doesn't admit
commas in bicubic patches, and with a pointlight in the ceiling (lightning
will change in the final render).
Well, any final suggestion, comments...?
Bye

Looks great. I really like the changes you've made.

I like it a lot!
One suggestion: I find the purple drawers too bright, as they had a high
ambient value. Maybe it is my monitor... I would like that someone else
could give a second opinion on that.
Congratulations again,
Fernando.

That carpet looks familiar.
Is it? Could it be? It is!

Hi
Excellent picture- the lighting seems very harsh. Changing the point light will help
but maybe softening the colour would also help
something like rgb<1,1,.85>

Yes: turn on the desk lamp for the final render, and lower a bit the
intensity of the ceil one. Also, adding some more toys will be really a
great improvement. I also notice that all the "browns" on the scene seem
fairly similar, perhaps. The whole scene is getting very nice. I love
specially the hanging cloths. Overall, great and fine modeling!

The rug looks great and there are a lot of hidden details in this image. I
think something big partially or mostly off camera (bed, dresser) would add
more dimention to the room. There are magnetic boards with magnets that I
have seen used in childrens rooms to hold drawings, pictures, etc. These
might be safer than tacks which sometimes fall out. 3-D letter magnets would
look good on a board like this and allow you to include the child's or your
name in the image.
This is a great image. Sorry about all the suggestions, but sometimes other
people's work really gets my imagination running.

The chair (to the left) does not match the detail level
of the rest of the image. What I mean is, everything is very
realistic yet the 2 chair cushions are obviously made from
8 squashed spheres. It's as if one put part of a 1990
render into a 2002 render.
Fantastic image! Wish I had done it. :)
