Getting there....

The lamp is a slightly adapted G.Tran include (why re-invent the wheel?)

Things to do

Footprints, cupboard texture, snow against base of lamp and cupboard, play some
more with the snow texture in general....

The more I look at photos of snow, the more the stuff confuses me.... Is it very
dependant on sub-surface scattering? Reflectivity? Little green men?

I think that for background items this is OK, but the lamp is such an
integral part of your scene that you should really model it yourself.

Besides that, the scene looks great. The only additions I could think of are
already on your to-do list (except footprints.)

Yes, I demand footprints :-) Also under person, otherwise... it must be very
hard snow or very light person.

Lightning is strange. It's night, right ? Something gives very sharp shadow. I
doubt it could be only moon.

Very nice.

I need to find some reference pics - I'm very unsure as to how the lighting
should look.

Thanks...

Should, but probably shan't ;) With any luck, a couple of voters might not read
my notes crediting GT - should be worth a couple of points....

Glad you like it.

I want to have your children....

Actually, I've seen some of these already (and quite a few more). I've yet to
find the perfect reference image...

In case you change your mind:

You could probably model one of these in a half hour.
