Hi there,

since I calibrated my monitor and adapted the colour curve of the leaves
(together with bugfixes in the normals of the mesh triangles) I'd like to
get your opinion again according to the realism of the fern.
The scene hasn't changed beside the area light I'm using now to soften the
hard shadows.

Feedback is very welcome :-)
regards
SY

Not at all plastic-like. I think the only problem is that the shadows seem
to break up the plant. Radiosity would probably correct this.

Much better, I think. But perhaps you lowered the green amount a bit too
much. Also, don't forget rad for final rendering, and perhaps giving a bit
more of life to the vase texture.

I really like it!!!
But i think, the fern needs a little bit of water. Looks like my room
plants, when i forgot to water them for a while... ;-)

good job!!!

Very good.
I think it looks a little stiff tho.
IMHO

Fine.
Yes, you are right. As you may see easily there is no ambient light and no
radiosity. Just the area light. Therefore of course very dark shadows.
the final scene I have in my mind looks completely different. The vase thing
is just for fun right now. The black background was boring :-)

thanks for feedback,

I already changed the colours again (I just can't stop playing around with
this thing). Now the are no longer "bluish" and have a more fresh green but
not as much as before.

The vase thing is just for tests and will not be part of the final scene.
Anyway, I will have to use rad then for shure.

Yes, for speed purposes it has only few sprays and the coloring was too
light. It really looks a bit thursty ;-)
But fortunately this is only a parameter. So I can really "water" this plant
to fresh it up :-)

THX

This can happen easily. By adjusting the "wing" parameters I can make them
more or less stiff. Obviously I didn't adapt the stiffness well in this
image. I will have to play around a while to get a "feeling" for realistic
parameter sets.

Thanks for feedback,
