Using the scene from the last "brazil challenge" for testing my lighting
macro (code posted on p.b.s-f.). There are 3 warm-white 15w fluorescents at
the far left, and 1 incandescent 60w lamp at the right/background.
This time I've not used radiosity, and the focal_blur uses less samples.
Also, I added some nuts to make it a bit different. Render time was almost
2h (with area_lights).

Amazing. I'm curious about the lighting because I know that often makes the
scene. Your lights have specific wattage and real world types. How do you
define this in a scene? Is the type of light (i.e. incandescent,
fluorescent) based on the rgb value and the intensity is the watts? How do
you control it so precisely?

Bueno!!!... Jaime, eres el amo.
Amaizing... Incredible.
When I see artworks like this, I really don't have words to say...
Sorry.
(running to p.b.s-f.).

Absolutely amazing!
Although: on the second look it looks a tiny little bit like made of clay,
don't you think so? Maybe due to the scratches? I don't know why. I had just
this feeling.
Anyway, it's more than excellent!

See my recent post on p.b.s-f., there is the code for the set of macros I
used to manage lights at that "high level", and a link to a web page
explaining the whole idea.
I'm sure my implementation of the real data is not "physiscally correct",
but it gives nice results and make easy for me to manage known artificial
lights. I hope to get some comments if someone uses it, to make it more
handy and correct if possible.

You're right! I was not sure about it, but now that you mention it, seems
like the material is soft, too deformable... just like metal-painted clay!
And you're also right about what is causing it: the small normal pattern is
not very good for such metal, I must work on it.

Thanks again!

The lighting looks phenomenal, though I expect nothing less from you :)
Trying the lights now...

If you continue posting photos and try to pass them as renders, you will be
banished.

Pretty impressive.
I got the impression that your set of macros, and the recent discussions about
realistic lighting, will open a new era in POV-Ray realistic imagery. I can't even
imagine all the possibilities...
