I was talking about the image.
But then I remembered that there is a deadline I want to meet and so
after trying all afternoon to get radiosity of that color of sunlight, I put
it away until after I re-render some of my old images...
I don't know if anyone else picked up on your challenge here, but here is as
far as I've gotten in the past week.
I used post processing to alter the contrast and brightness of the image. I
need some sort of image editor to try playing with the dynamic range
compression Kari is always talking about.

That's not bad. Looks a little dim on my screen but you are much further
along than I am.

I checked Gimp and the Curves editor is better than in Photoshop
but it only works for 24bit images so expect to see some quantization
noise when doing big adjustments with Curves. It can also do gamma
preview according to manual but I haven't yet found the dialog
that activates it (Display Filters). For Unix there is Hollywood
Gimp. http://www.gimp.org
Because the Curves editor scales are linear most of the curve
affects the bright areas and an equal change in the top and
bottom part of the curve produces much bigger change in the
dark areas.
Here is an example of a real film response curve in
logarithmic and linear scales. http://www.pp.htv.fi/kkivisal/curves/
