I relocated the hole, as suggested by Ruy, and rendered with AA, area lights
and a white background. Better?

My choice so far. I wish someone besides me (and, of course, Mahalis) would
_at least_ acknowledge this design...

The process used to make them won't be able to put 3D objects into it. Only
embossed at best from what I understand. And where color is concerned that
would be enamel in flat pools inset into metal borders or outlines.

Oh poo. So I've just been working on this for nothing? :-)

If that is the case, then pardon my previous insistence. I only concluded
(wrongly, presumably) that if design #1 on the pov web page was possible,
then the casting process would allow for more 3D-ish designs.

Well, your first argument totally defeats the purpose of me proceding to
this next one, but I thought that we could use a different material. Setup
costs, though, I believe, would make it quite unfeasible.

Anyway, I _wish_ we could try to stray from what is common.

It's a nice, simple design and I like it. Though I'm not sure what material
you could make it out of that'd last up to the punishment that a set of keys
can dish out. Plastic looks like the obvious choice based on your image. But
plastic keyrings wear out fast.

I do, I think it should certainly be a 3D design.

It can be done if the idea goes the CAD/CAM way. Costly though.

You can, silver or bronze. Cheapish, and can be cast in any design.

      Good idea.
