I've tried several sets of radiosity on the following figure, but couldn't
ever manage to get rid of those artifacts. Here are the two that seem to get
the least artifacts and still provide the effect I'm looking for:

      pretrace_start 0.08
      pretrace_end 0.01
      count 200
      nearest_count 10
      error_bound 0.01
      recursion_limit 2
      low_error_factor 0.1
      gray_threshold 0.0
      minimum_reuse 0.015
      brightness 1
      adc_bailout 0.01/2
      always_sample off

and

      brightness 1
      count 300
      distance_maximum 0.0
      error_bound 0.01
      gray_threshold 0.05
      low_error_factor 0.0005
      minimum_reuse 0.01
      nearest_count 6
      recursion_limit 1
      always_sample off

How can I get rid of the artifacts, please?

Ruy

Simple. Increase max_trace_level... (Your radiosity settings can be toned
down, btw...)

I looked into the documentation and couldn't find the default value for
max_trace_level. Didn't it use to be on earlier versions docs?

The default is 5, it's in 6.11.7 "max_trace_level" at the end of the second
paragraph.

Took me a while to find it too, honestly...

I know what you mean. I expected to find a number, not a word. Well, it
should teach me to really read the documents, not just to skim over them.

Thanks a bunch.
