Inspired by the recent post by Tony[B].
As I said, I think that pov's scattering works well in most cases... it's up
to you (as pov user) to use it (properly).
These two candles took 2 hours to render (focal blur used).
Comments?

Sweet! Enlighten us on how the candle holder texture and the wax was done.
Can you post source in p.b.s.f?

My God... that's ... stunning! The flames only need a little work to get the
coloring right (add that little blue area at the bottom). As for the candle
wax, that is quite good (especially as far as modelling goes, very nice!),
but as you can see in the attachment I've ... well, attached, you can see
through the candle. These candles would not work well in another more
"active" scene. Oh, and I must know how you did that metal texture. It's
beautiful! :)

Youre right... I didn't play much with it. It's really late (1.38 am and
tomorrow I'm having school at 8.30...) and I wanted the render to finish
before going to bed ;)
Here I think I should either lower transmit (here 0.7) or increase
scattering.

Just one more thing: does wax refract light?

Lowering the transmit should do it... You used double_illuminate too, right?

I'm pretty sure it does, but I'll be darned if I know what the IOR is.
Besides, in my experiments, I got some strange lighting using IOR for it.
Believe me when I said I tried everything. :)

Hmm. Then you can definitely lower the filter and add double_illuminate. Try
it and post.
