Before posting the code for this I'd like to improve it as much as possible.
Here is take 3. The grass pattern is tweaked, and the colors, the transition
between the path and the grass, and I also added some simple flowers while I
was at it. Hope you think this version is an improvement over the last
version.
This image took 20 minutes on my old Pentium 150, mostly because of the
great need for antialiasing.

It looks great! I think you started new trend in
making things which needed a lot of memory -
grass, leaves, fur, hair. I'm just wondering if it
would be possible to make w/o 3.5. Is it "warp"
which makes it possible ?

Sure it's an improvement. Looks very good. Much better than the previous
ones.
I don't know how you do it, but it seems like what I need for an image I'm
thinking about.
Keep up the good work
Waiting for the next chapter.

This is pretty good. I think a lot of people will have use for it as
something that doesn't eat resources.

I specially like that it seems there is "air" blendng the blades. Very
nice! I figured since the begining that it was a "stacked" technique:
there was the only way for what you described. But I never would have
figured to use it for grass! Great!
P.S.: I see it even does some sort of "subsurface scattering" at the
distance!
