Had to solve the old "how do you scan a can-label on a flat-bed scanner when the
label won't come off" for this one.... (roll it).

Me neither.
I remember seeing a hand scanner somewhere. You roll it along the surface you
are scanning. Might work if it's small enough.

The image map seems to be a bit too dark, or is the can just very old (the
shiny metall say's it isn't)?

Well, it was a bit problematic, but as you can see, I solved it (by rolling the
can along the glass in time with the scanner head). A bit distorted in places,
but workable...

Heh - well, I guess it's about the only place someone might bring themselves to
actually eating the contents.
I'm curious as to what sort of market research went into this one - did anyone
actually say that what they really needed in life was omellete, chips and beans
in a can? I may just have to open it one of these days....

While I like all three of these items, I would never have considered canning
the chips or the omelet, nor would I have ever imagined this particular

It's possible to purchase special equipment to perform this operation.

I'm just surprised that no one makes an attachment for a flat-bed
scanner which enables scanning cylindrical objects. It would be fairly
