i've messed with both max trace level and adc_bailout with no luck..
it doesnt change a thing..
could it be the way i modeled them.. they are exported in UDO format from
RHINO 3d 1.0... any other suggestions..
here's what it looks like..
somethings just not right in the transparency..
if i lower the IOR its not as noticable.. but that defeats the purpose

Is the liquid a seperate object from the bottle?

Does the soap look ok without the plastic bottle being rendered - ie with
the soap on it's own? The first thing I'd try is scaling the soap by 0.9999
just incase it's a bounderies type problem.

it was the combination of both.. i had to scale it to 1.00001 and increase
the max trace level and adc_bailout. it looks much better.
i'll post the new results tomarrow.. after it finishes rendering.. (its
kinda slow)

well i rendered just the soap and the background and it renders great.. just
like it should.. so i'm thinking its got to be some kind of collision
problem with the bottle.. i'm goign to remodel the bottle and soap making
sure they overlap just a little.

What you want is a thin layer of _nothing_ between the soap and the bottle:
